An important component of Ford Mustang Cobra exhaust systems are the exhaust pipes, more commonly known as x pipes or cross over pipes. These pipes connect exhaust headers to the rest of the exhaust system. The cobra exhaust pipes that are included in performance exhaust systems are usually mandrel bent as bent press bending creates wrinkles in the tubing which adversely affects the airflow. They are mostly made from stainless steel tubing and in some cases the cobra exhaust pipes' diameter is improved to optimise exhaust system performance.
